PRE GYM MEAL - Cream of rice - 50g rice flour with scoop of protein powder, 50g blueberries and 1 banana (slowing getting better at making this)

Freezing here with a top of 10deg, so you know i had to have a massive fight with my 13yr about how she needs to wear tights to stay warm which was a battle I was not ever going to win so throw my hand up in and took the loss on this! then it was wrangle the 7yrs to get her jumper on and brush her hair! almost need to be a professional MMA fighter to grapple her into submission.

Then we in the car and blasting our tunes and fighting the morning traffic! In and out of the kiss and drop line without road raging with Karren in her new 200 series or Reshma in her x5! today is going to be a good day even if the weather is rubbish!

On the freeway and Waze tell me 25min in traffic to Gym, perfect to time the double scoop of pre work out and try and get hyped up for hitting some legs!

Got a little excited as added 30kg total to my Hack squat best! so, let's get into the workout


  • 5 sets of Hack squat - 20kg x 10, 40kg x 12, 60kg x 14, 80kg x 11, 80kg x 10
  • 4 sets of seated calf raise - 50kg for each set with 15 reps - nice pause at the top
  • 4 sets on the kneeling curl machine - weight and reps per leg - 40kg x 15, 50kg x 14, 60kg x 10, 60kg x 7
  • 3 sets good girl machine (abductors) - 110kg x 15, 124kg x 13, 138kg x 5
  • 4 sets of incline dumbbell chest press - weight of dumbbell per hand - 10kg x 15, 17.5kg x 12, 20kg x 14, 27.5kg x 10 - had never done this before so needed to guess what weight to use
  • pronated reverse grip curls dumbbells - 7.5kg x 15, 7.5kg x 15, 10kg x 14
  • Hammer curl dumbbells - 10kg x 15, 15kg x 9, 15kg x 10

Been good throwing in few new movements and trying some different styles of late, so hopefully see if this helps my progress and development!

missed updating my Saturday workout, had a family day so we got busy enjoying a day out in the city, sushi train, bread top and a crap load of stuff which wasn't in the meal plan but we have to still live!

The boss is home so no need to worry about getting kids ready and to school that is her duties today, so up at 4am hot shower and on the scales before my pre gym meal then in the gym by 4:50 once I stuffed around and got there!

Still trying to grow a big back so good size back workout and felt really good!

So the wife had day off and tells me hey I will do the school run, then come home and do the house work, I know it start of the month and you will have emails and paperwork to get done.

On her way back from school drop off , her stopping at bunnings and getting her eye brows done totally forgetting about house work and home duties

So early morning Leg workout let grow these legs! hit a new PB on the hack squats - 100kg wahoo!
  • 5 sets - hack squat - 20kg x 20, 40kg x 13, 80kg x 12, 100kg x 10, 100kg x 6
  • 4 sets - leg press - all at 120kg x 12 reps just did slow controlled with pause at bottom after hack my legs were shaking still
  • 3 sets - leg press calf raise - all 120kg x 12 reps super set with the leg press
  • 4 sets - incline dumbbell press- 22.5kg x 14, 27.5kg x 14, 27.5kg x 12, 27.5kg x 6
  • 3 sets - reverse dumbbell curls - 10kg for 15 reps all sets
  • 3 sets - hammer curls - 10kg x 15, 15kg x 8, 15kg x 10
  • 3 sets - standard dumbbell bicep curls - all 15kg x 9 reps
  • 4 sets - kneeling hamstring curls - weight and rep per leg - 45kg x 15, 55kg x 10, 65kg x 10, 50kg x 15
  • 4 sets - standing calf raise - 125kg x 12, 155kg x 11, 175kg x 9 , 135kg x 12

added the Dumbbell movements in as the gym got busy and the machines i wanted to use were taking by 45kg females full stacking them so I rather than waste time I thought why not do some arms.

Only tip I’d give is maybe swap the leg press/calf superset to the end next time, give your quads more to give on hack squat and curls first. But honestly, this is how you build.. consistency.

Probably could have pushed the leg press heavier but shh will be honest ( I was being lazy ) I couldnt be bothered getting up and putting plates on and then unracking it after

off home to have some food before the kids wake and start fighting, have been feeling like sweets of late but trying to behave so i made a Jelly Yogurt mix for a total of 145cal for entire container this will be good as a snack during the day few spoons here and there when feeling snackish between meals.

The boss had a morning shift so had to leave at 6am so no morning training for me, might have the day off gym today and just rest with the kids. will take the dog for a walk and my youngest is enjoying kicking the footy around the oval now they did Oz kick at school.

Diet has been going well eating 3500cal per day and with help from another forum member we have reviewed macros and Carb intake was far to low so am now hitting a min 400g of carbs per day with still a focus on natural unprocessed foods. have added pumpkin and sweet potatoes in to change up from just big bowls of rice 4 x daily.

the extra carbs is obviously helping as the scales have started to move up and getting some solid workouts in with heavier weights. have also notice I am sore after my workouts on the day and next day, had been a while since feeling this.
