Doing a deload week to see if the extra recovery will help me push through this plateau.

Your numbers are really good. A weekly deficit of over 2600 cals. Proteins on point where you averaged around 200g most days this helps in preserving muscle while stripping fat. Scales moving down and average weight has dropped. I'd be happy with this! Just keep trusting the process.

That's exactly the goal and why I'm super focussed on being consistent. 💪

Gotta admit I hate deload weeks, always feels like I'm not working hard enough, but the logical part of my brain tells me I need it. Especially considering the only breaks I've taken in at least 30 weeks is when I've been sick. So it's probably about due. Plus better now than during the comp.

Deloads are necessary. Especially after 30 weeks straight. They reduce injury risk, manage fatigue and really improve long term progress. Feeling like that mentally is VERY normal. Yep, doing this now prevents burnout or breakdown during comp (y)

Could be the low cals. Deload helps with fatigue, but not always strength. Maybe try a pre-workout meal or supplement, could make a difference.
Probably is. A have a protein shake+pre workout just before I go. But I reckon I'm stuck until I stop cutting. Conflicted about that, close to where I want to get too.

Another rough plateau day, especially rough with my low cable flys, progressed on set 1 and 2, but 3rd set I couldn't even get into position until I dropped the weight by 10kg and only got a couple of sets it.
Definitely gunna use the comp to refocus and adjust things a bit, need to work out what will work best.

Sounds like you're pushing hard and your body’s not keeping up. Nothing wrong with that. Plateaus happen, especially when you're on a cut. Dropping weights to get quality reps is better than forcing sloppy sets. I think the re-feed idea from the boys is the way to go.

Definitely seems that way, I'll give it a go, have a good refeed over the weekend and see how I go next week.
