That's exactly the goal and why I'm super focussed on being consistent.Your numbers are really good. A weekly deficit of over 2600 cals. Proteins on point where you averaged around 200g most days this helps in preserving muscle while stripping fat. Scales moving down and average weight has dropped. I'd be happy with this! Just keep trusting the process.
Deloads are necessary. Especially after 30 weeks straight. They reduce injury risk, manage fatigue and really improve long term progress. Feeling like that mentally is VERY normal. Yep, doing this now prevents burnout or breakdown during compGotta admit I hate deload weeks, always feels like I'm not working hard enough, but the logical part of my brain tells me I need it. Especially considering the only breaks I've taken in at least 30 weeks is when I've been sick. So it's probably about due. Plus better now than during the comp.View attachment 3544
Could be the low cals. Deload helps with fatigue, but not always strength. Maybe try a pre-workout meal or supplement, could make a difference.Bit bummed my deload didn't magically allow me to progress my bench press but I guess I can't expect miracles.

Probably is. A have a protein shake+pre workout just before I go. But I reckon I'm stuck until I stop cutting. Conflicted about that, close to where I want to get too.Could be the low cals. Maybe schedule a re-feed every 14 days. Can help top up glycogen and give a bit of a boost.. especially during a longer cut.Probably is. A have a protein shake+pre workout just before I go. But I reckon I'm stuck until I stop cutting. Conflicted about that, close to where I want to get too.
That might be a good idea actually, not something I really thought of. Will have to look into it.Maybe schedule a re-feed every 14 days. Can help top up glycogen and give a bit of a boost.. especially during a longer cut.
100% agree with that. That might be a good idea actually, not something I really thought of. Will have to look into it.
Definitely seems that way, I'll give it a go, have a good refeed over the weekend and see how I go next week.Sounds like you're pushing hard and your body’s not keeping up. Nothing wrong with that. Plateaus happen, especially when you're on a cut. Dropping weights to get quality reps is better than forcing sloppy sets. I think the re-feed idea from the boys is the way to go.
