BCAAs

Just a question out there - Which brand BCAAs do you boys use and what do you recommend... and do you think it actually makes a difference. I personally have been using one from Chemist Warehouse (INC BCAA Powder Plus Mango Berry). I've used many different brands in the past, but I personally think it's all about the marketing and packaging.

Thoughts?

There's a study I read recently. I think it was 5g of BCAAs needed for optimal protein synthesis. After that it just plateaus. Make no mistake, you NEED BCAAs, but you don't need much. You get what you need from food with a standard 6 meal a day bodybuilding regimen.
Then on top of that, 1 scoop of for example, Optimum Whey will provide your daily BCAA needs.

It's one of those things that is hard to notice if it makes a difference, and you can actually feel the BCAAs working.

I've never used the brand you mentioned, but as long as the ingredients are on point, there shouldn't be any issues.

I've been using Xtend for a while now... never really experimented with other brands. Do I see a difference - no idea man! Flavours good and also a way to get hydrated.

I don't take any BCAAs brother... I dont see the point. Should be getting all your nutrition from your foods unless your a pro athlete.🤷‍♂️

I find them quite useful during the day after a long break not using them I found they actually helped..

I read a study on bccas and people who smoke have lower levels so if you smoke they are beneficial 💪🏼😉

I use bulk nutrients BCAA, ( I use bulk nutrients everything, Im not rich enough to pay for fancy packaging ) have done for years, I use it in my pre/intra training drink, definitely helps with muscle soreness. I also use it pre fasted cardio when dieting for a comp, the theory is, it helps preserve muscle in a fasted state.

I've tried a lot of different BCAAs, and this is my favourite by far.

That brand is a bit misleading isn't it, it's either branched chain aminos, or essential aminos, I think they are a bit confused, or looking for another marketing angle 🤣
I never really noticed what you pointed out before... lol ... but I did a quick search into it apparently there is such a thing... the term "essential branched-chain amino acids" refers to leucine, isoleucine, and valine, which are essential amino acids with a branched-chain structure. The distinction highlights their specific role and importance in nutrition and supplementation, especially for athletes and individuals looking to support muscle growth and recovery.

I usually go with the bulk nutrients ones or their future whey or their no stim preworkout(get enough caffeine from black coffee).
A lot of the others and other electrolyte drinks have high sodium - don't need the extra water retention or artificial sweeteners/extra carbs

Use them for the electrolytes and staying hydrated - chugging plain water down is more of a chore.

I have not taken a supplement in 20 years, and by that I mean absolutely Zilch, gone past that long time ago, I get what I need from food however it does give peace of mind when U take few supps knowing for sure ur body has what it needs
