Decided to pump out a bit of an impromptu Shoulder workout this evening…

I consider shoulders one of my stronger points so tbh I have neglected them a bit lately.

More of an instinctual session more than anything. Higher reps, drop sets, supersets etc. To be fair I really just wanted to chase a mad pump 😅

Anyway this is what I managed to knock out 👇🏼

Seated Smith Machine Shoulder Press
1 x 8 @ 70kg superset w/12kg Hammer Grip Front DB raises x 10
1 x 6 @ 80kg superset w/10 x hammer DB raise @ 14kg
1 x 11 @ 50kg (back off)

Reverse Pec Deck
3 x 16 @ 40kg

DB Lat Raise
2 x 10 @ 16kg plus drop set with 12kg to fail

Behind back close grip smith shrug superset bent over DB fly

ANZAC Day Sesh (Upper Body)

Rolled down to the local dawn service this morning at 0530hrs. I have gotten earlier to make sure I got my first meal in prior.

After the dawny I went into town and pumped out a solid Upper Body sesh.

Probably tried to go a little too heavy on the barbell bench, so backed off and added in an extra set.

Cutting this cycle short by 2 weeks in lieu of the upcoming AGW Transformation Challenge, so final pin will be tomorrow before I drop back to a cruise for 5 weeks.

Not ideal and not how I had originally planned things, but will give me a few weeks to rest up the body (training won’t change) and get some bloods done etc before jumping back on beginning of June into a lean growth phase.

Plan will be for a slight calorie surplus (I’m thinking 10%) to try and keep body fat under control and maintain some sort of half decent condition at the same time. ✌🏻

I'm planning on getting bloods too. I usually go through a GP but this time I'm thinking of going through imedical. I haven't been taking any ai so keen to see my estrogen levels.

Yeah I’ll be going through i-screen again. Was easy to order and results are loaded into app with doctor feedback. And it allows you to compare against previous tests which will be handy

Not ideal but makes sense bro. Better to go in fresh for the comp. Little cruise now, clean bloods and reset the body.

The 10% surplus sounds like a good call too.

Mind games have already started about not being on cycle and it’s only Day 1 haha.

Yeah I’m hoping the 10% or so surplus is enough for some steady gains whilst keeping body fat under some sort of control
 
Log for today Monday 28th April

First day off cycle and I’m already sad about it haha. But, my approach to training and diet will not change.

Diet/calories will remain as is for the next 5 weeks leading into the Transformation Comp.

Knocked out a shoulder sesh with a young bloke from the gym this arvo. Felt weird doing a single body part only. He watches too much Mike Mentzer I reckon lol. I personally believe lower volume, high intensity and high(er) frequency is the way to go, imo..

DB Shoulder Press Superset w/BB Front Raise @ 17.5kg
1 x 12 @ 40kg
1 x 5 @ 45kg (yeah little too heavy for 2nd set)
1 x 9 @ 40kg

DB Rear Delt Fly
2 x 20 @ 10kg plus drop sets10 @ 8kg

DB Lateral Raise
2 x 10 @ 17.5kg superset w/wide grip BB upright row 17.5kg

50 rep drop set 10/8/6/4/2 @ 10reps per weight. Not a bad finisher, pumped plenty of blood into the shoulders, just looks funny when you’re struggling to lift the 2kg DB’s on the final drop lol.

So dropping back to a cruise starting this week. 250mg Test E split into 2 pins (supplied by @gearmaniac101 of course 🤌🏼)

Looking forward to giving the body a small break before full steam ahead in June 🤘🏼🤘🏼

Just keep pumping through it. You’ve got the right mindset with the food and training. The gears just a small piece of the big picture, the real work’s what you’re doing now.

Log for Tuesday 29th April

Lower Body Day today. I’ve been feeling pretty good energy wise and mentally ok majority of the week. Just trying to keep the mindset right and focussed even though I have come off cycle into a cruise.

Training intensity and diet has remained the same, as I aim to maintain before moving into the Transformation Comp in June.

Hopped on the scales this morning and weight is still holding steady and I’m still happy with my condition in the mirror. 🪞

Due to equipment availability in the gym, I couldn’t get to hitting any compound lifts like I would have liked. However I still managed a solid, balanced session, and felt accomplished leaving the gym 🤘🏼

Still lifting heavy and hard, usually max 2 working sets on all exercises unless I really felt like I hard more to give (in which case I potentially didn’t go hard enough on earlier sets 🫣)
 
Log for today 1st May

Upper Body sesh today!! I was so pumped for it all day and it did not disappoint.

Ended up not having as much time in there as I would have liked due to family commitments, but I still got majority of it done and left with a mad pump and a smile on my face 😁

I had been neglecting Incline Chest movements lately (well not hitting them first) so decided to hit the Incline DB first. Surprisingly I managed 2 solid working sets with the 50kg so I was stoked. Felt very comfortable and in control!!

Normally I throw in some shoulders and triceps onto the end as well. But, it can tend to drag the session out and I’m pretty gassed towards the end. So moving forward I’ve decided to move all arm work (bi/Tri) to the beginning of my lower body sessions.

Will see how it goes and adjust if necessary.
