First test cycle

Hi everyone, what I am really appreciating is the cautious, safety POV from those here that have "been there and done that".

During my research I have come across people (not this forum) that suggest starting straight up with a Test / Deca / Dbol 12 week cycle, and get a bit aggro when I don't buy straight away. A bit much considering my lack of knowledge and experience.

Now, at 58 years of age I am considering my first ever cycle of test e only (as advised by gear maniac, and others), but I have a few questions.

Is 1 ml twice weekly good to go from the start, or should I start smaller and slowly increase dosage?
How many weeks should I run my first cycle?
Do I just finish the cycle and let my natural system take over?
I'm mainly looking to body recomp - remain around 74kg, so should my current protein priority diet pretty much remain at energy balance during the cycle?

I am unable to start anything until September, so plenty of time to continue learning.

Cheers, and thank you.

What are your stats ? What type of muscle mass are you already carrying ? What’s your diet like ? Are you tracking calories and macros ? These will be contributing factors. Before I would give a solid suggestion on cycle.

58 years old / 185cm / 74kg / about 18%bf
Diet is macros based .... roughly 180p / 150c / 60f
Training 6 x 50 minutes sessions per week - standard push / pull / legs.

Goal is to body recomp. Lose the stubborn pot belly look whilst maintaining similar weight.

I get it, so many opinions it can get overwhelming.

1ml twice a week is perfect for a cycle (12 weeks). If you want my honest opinion... I would not bother with PCT. TRT is something that I would seriously consider. At 58 your natural test production is already on the decline, so doing TRT instead of PCT after your cycle makes more sense. PCT is meant to kickstart your natural test production, but at your age, it won't bounce back like it would in a younger guy. With TRT you keep your test levels stable and high. You will be able to maintain muscle gains, energy levels, and just overall well-being. TRT is a more consistent and effective approach for older guys. This is just my opinion and this is what I would do if I were in your shoes.

American forums (Im guessing) they're ruthless. Look you can start off with a low dosage if that's whay you feel comfortable with - no harm in that or just start with TRT first for a few months and get a feel on how the test works with your body. Then jump on a cycle for 12 to 14 weeks. 500mg would best to see some good results.

Thank you for your response.......reading a lot and learning.

So, in your opinion should I just continue with the test e beyond the initial 12 week cycle and not go into a pct phase......with consideration to how my body and mind responds to the test e?
