My goal is the usual.....to build muscle and lose fat.

I am currently consuming roughly 2500 calories per day which is my maintenace intake.

If anyone has any suggestions about whether I will lose fat and build muscle with the addition of test whilst remaining on my maintenance intake, or whether I'd be better off going into a caloric surplus helping add muscle but also dropping fat.

Any suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I'm a Tren lover so I'm going to say add at least 100mg of Tren twice a week for 8 weeks if your doing a 12 week cycle.
Will look into doing that. Have you found that using test alone on you first cycle (if thats what you did or know of) would aid in fat loss at all?

I have just started my first 250mg per week test cycle. I am 44 y/o and currently weigh 80 kg at 178 cm and have been lifting on and off for 20 years but seriously for 5. I would guess my body fat percent is around 14-16 percent (some visible abs and veins), but mostly holding fat in my stomach and lower back area.

My goal is the usual.....to build muscle and lose fat.

I am wondering if adding anavar to my cycle might help drop some body fat. I had originally planned a test only first cycle to see if my body agreed with anabolics, but so far so good, so am not apposed to adding a cutting compound.

Any suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
250 a week is fine , but you will grow more on 500mg , although at 44 , 250mg is adequate. I would run test alone, but some Oxondrolone ( Anavar ) would be OK to throw in. I wouldn't use Tren until you've had a few cycles under your belt. You will drop body fat as you grow also, remembering muscular tissue is comprised of active metabolites , so yes you can grow and loose some fat, to an extent. But you also have to make piece with picking one or the other at times to. No one looses fat in a caloric surplus just like no one gains mass and Hypertrophy in a deficit

I will be really interested to see the changes in muscle mass as I am literally at the end of the first week. I am already seeing some weight increases on some lifts. Any body fat loss will be a bonus in this first cycle.

Thanks for the advice!

@Dan30185 is right you don't need the tren but that's just me I always get better results when I throw into the mix. All comes down to diet but the tren just takes it to another level 😂

At 200mg a week the sides SHOULD be minimal.

Leave it at the 250mg bro. It’s your first cycle so there’s no need to over do it. You will yield results from the 250mg.

Fat loss is more of a calorie deficit situation. 2500 calories. But what’s your macros like ?

I’m 6ft3, 99kg doing 2,900 calories at maintenance (ish) while on cruise.

I do
280g protein
225g carbs
93g fats

Keep that protein nice and high for muscle building. You still wanna keep some fats in there especially omega 3 for your health and sleep.

Cardio 4 days per week.

This will get you building some mass while also tightening up 💪🏽

Have you considered starting a log ? I log on another forum and it’s been a game changer with the input from other members.

Thanks for the reply bro. The 2500 cals consists of a ratio of

225g protein
200g carbs
70g fats

I need to face facts that cardio is a neccessary addition to my current routine. I have done cardio (running) over the years but it has dropped out as I got into my 40s and injuries took hold. I think I will add low impact treadmill walking for half an hour 3-4 times per week.

I will look into starting a log. It definetly interests me to track what I'm doing and reap the awards of advice from experienced members.

Thanks again...much appreciated!

I don’t see any real issue with your balance in macros.

Cardio is always good. I was not a fan until recent. It also is great for heart health. I’m on Telmisartan even when not blasting so cardio improved my cardiovascular quite a bit.

I would suggest the bike in the gym bro. Work at low level intensity and build your way up each week. Aim for 10km rides 4 days. Roughly 17-25 minutes of your time and you will burn a good 200 calories.

A log will help you loads. Posting diet, training, usage etc. and getting help and changes made. It’s almost the same as having an online coach. In my opinion sometimes better due to mixed opinions followed by reasoning to get you the best outcome 💪🏽

Best of luck with your cycle

The time has come to get on the bike.....

I'm thinking I will set a weekly plan to get a 10km ride as a seperate workout to my current push, pull, legs split, maintaining heart rate at 110-130 bpm. On the days I am time poor, I will add it to the end of my lift.

I am traveling with work this week so I will have time in the evenings to get my log happening. Navigating my diet whilst on the road has presented challenges in the past, so look forward to logging that and getting helpful tips.

Thanks again for showing interest in my journey....appreciate it bro!
