What do you do if you miss a gym session?

I've been trying to think this through and would love to know how you all handle it?

If you miss a session do you shift the missed session forward? Do you stick to the schedule and skip it? Or to a full body session next time?

I feel like for the occasional missed session it's probably better to just do the workout you missed next time and continue from there, and that's what I've been generally doing.

But what about doing a full body workout next time instead?

This way you ensure that all the muscle groups in the previous and following session are both worked out at least twice. But what about if you know you're going to miss a few sessions? Do you completely change your workout for when you're back to ensure the key muscle groups are hit and reduce ancillory?

I do a 5-day plan going on my lunch breaks, so if something comes up that I can move I'll try and go before work instead, or after if that's works. If I miss the day completely because I'm sick or something I normally just move onto the next day, though I may preferance a differant day instead. If I missed Back&Chest on Wednesday, I might hit that on Thursday instead, and then Thursday's workout on Friday, and then just skip Friday cause I'm less worried about legs. I try more than anything is not to give myself excuses to skip a session unless I really can't do it. If I'm consistant 99.9% of the time, missing the occasional day or week when I can't avoid it matters less.

Honestly , it's a training session mate, just stick to your schedule and carry onward, call it a rest day , a 24 hr de-load . If you are consistent as you say, it is not going to make a lick of difference. I would t think twice about it , it's not a sprint it's a marathon bud
