Testosterone - blood results

Hey guys

My initial testosterone blood work came in at 11 nmol/L about 8 months ago.

I then started test e, 250mg 2 times per week which was a bit much for TRT (my mistake), but have since dialled it down to 125mg 2 times per week.

This week blood results came in at 90 nmol/L which seems very high. I had blood taken about an hour after pinning, which maybe I shouldn't have....I don't know!

Now, should I dial down further to maybe 100mg 2 times per week or is a reading of 90 OK.

I am 59 years old. excellent diet no other red flags on blood work?

Cheers

Yeah man, 90 nmol/L is definitely high and pinning an hour before bloods would’ve spiked it hard, so that number isn’t a true reflection of your average levels. That said, even with timing aside, 250mg or even 125mg twice a week is a hefty dose for someone on TRT. Especially at 59. That’s closer to a mild blast than it is a therapeutic dose.

You’re in good shape now with clean bloods and clean diet, but staying at that level long-term can put more strain on your heart, BP, cholesterol and organs than you might feel right away. Just being honest here, those supraphysiological levels carry risks that add up over time, especially as we age.

Dropping to 100mg twice a week is a smart next step or even consolidating to 150mg total per week split in two pins. That should still keep you feeling good while keeping your levels and health markers in check.

I’m similar age and natural level was around 9. As already mentioned 150mg total per week should be plenty for trt. It could still put you into high range which isn’t the ideal way to start long term trt.I would confirm with blood test in a month or so ( but don’t pin for 5 -7 days prior if possible)
