Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators (SARMs) are a class of therapeutic compounds that have similar anabolic properties to anabolic steroids, but with reduced androgenic (producing male characteristics) properties. As an example, the androgen receptor is activated by binding androgens, such as testosterone.

SARMs vs Prohormones vs Steroids (Differences & What's Best)
Sarms
Prohormones
Advanced bodybuilders and athletes might turn to more 'hardcore' supplements to continue to progress in their given sport. People might take SARMs, prohormones or steroids for a number of reasons. The reason might be aesthetic, such as for increased lean muscle mass and fat loss, or to improve performance and recovery for sport.

Although all 3 claim to do very similar things, they work in totally different ways. When considering SARMs vs prohormones vs steroids it is important to understand the key differences between each, in terms of results, side effects, dangers and interactions.

What is the difference between SARMs, prohormones & steroids, are they the same?
Steroids
Anabolic–Androgenic steroids (AAS), are steroidal androgens that include natural androgens like testosterone as well as synthetic androgens that are structurally related and provide varying anabolic:androgenic ratios and outcomes.

Prohormones
Prohormones, on the other hand, are precursors to hormones. This means that they have to be converted in the body to the target substance (which might be nandrolone, for example). In this way, steroids are the more direct route.

SARMs
Selective androgen receptor modulators (SARMs), on the other hand, target specific receptors in muscle, fat and bone to illicit an enhanced response.

Of course, a key difference is the availability and quality of each that we have access to. In most countries, the sale of anabolic steroids is prohibited. This has led to a black market full of products that are under or overdosed and might not be what they claim to be. Prohormones have also been subject to scrutiny with many old favorites such as superdrol now banned. There are however a number, such as Epistane, still available. SARMs are arguably the most 'up and coming' category with mounting research behind them, especially ostarine. Even so, always buy from a reputable brand and distributer.

I hear great things about Sarms nearly dived in but then pulled back, before trying any compound you need to do the research and I mean lots of research, for now I rather stick to some good old sauce.

SARMS are worst than gear for your health. Guys on SARMS usually have worse health markers on their blood work than guys on gear. On top of that, the gains are just not there to justify their price to risks ratio.

In regards to prohormones , they are not all precursors, for example Superdrol , M1T, Boladrol, SMZ, Methylstenbolone etc are all active metabolites in their own right. SARMS imo are a waste of money. Potential adverse side effects are about the same or perhaps more so than androgens, the unknown due to a lack of study is so great that it's just diminishing returns. You will shut down endogenous testosterone production with Ostarine anyway for example, you will not build anywhere near the muscle with Ostarine as you do with Test only , so I don't get the fad really. Just my opinion though

Sarms provide results, that's if you find a reliable source (they are heavily bunked). Tried Rad140 a few times and whilst it will add a small amount of lean muscle mass, some strength gains, and give you a pretty sweet body recomp the results were not worth it with the suppression even whilst taking enclomiphene. Also the toxicity to the liver and taking a pill which has little research. Test/steroids are definitely king.

Yeah it's the very limited range of studies which really puts me off Sarms. The key reason I got on TRT was mostly to help with longetity. And now that's snow balled to a mini cycle, and now I'm weighing up my second. I feel this is an easy train which keeps going, just need to ensure that you pick compounds which have a lot of testing and research to be that bit safer.
