Hey guys,

I'm new to this world, but I'm more than keen to give it a go. I've been working out for about 5–6 years and have a 20-year history with dirt biking.

Currently, I'm 88kg, 183cm tall, probably around 21–22% body fat, and 36 years old. I'm looking to increase muscle mass while dropping some fat.

I've started following a pretty good diet, keeping my intake around 1,800–2,000 calories per day.

I've been considering taking Var but I'm unsure how it would work with TRT. I'm also planning to do pre-cycle bloodwork to have a baseline for comparison.

I’d really appreciate any advice and tips on how to get the most out of this. I'm aiming for a 6–8 week cycle.

Trt and Var is a nice mix for energy & weight loss protocol. Orals are not great for long term use but ok for a couple of months.
You seem young to be on TRT so it’s probably best to do blood tests first for current testosterone level and general health screening.
It would be beneficial to half your body fat before doing stronger cycles or trying to bulk. That alone should raise your natural testosterone level & improve other health markers.

Hello and welcome.. I started a clinical trt dose in June 2024 I was on 150mg (3 x 50mg per week)

I went from around 115kg 35+% bf to 96kg and 13.8% bf in under 6 months
I was on a strict 1750 cal per day and 3 day week training and daily steps

I run 40mg of anavar at about month 4 for 6 weeks before a holiday and loved the visual ascetics of the compound

I would highly recommend @gearmaniac101 as a trusted supplier for anavar and your other pharmaceuticals they are also very good with recommendations

Jumping into TRT with Var can definitely help achieve your goals of adding muscle while losing fat (assuming your diet and training is on track). As Doc mentioned, getting your blood work done first is key. It’ll help you understand your current testosterone levels and overall health status which is absoulutely crucial before starting anything new. Keeping the Var at a 6–8 week cycle is perfect, nothing more than that with orals. Just make sure your take proper liver support supplements when taking any oral compound :)

How many mg VAR should i take?
1-2 week 20mg / day
2-4 30mg / day
4-6 40 mg / day?
or
1-2 week 20mg / day
2-6 40mg / day?

Also what supplements would be recommended? I take fish oil in general but milk thistle or tudca would be some other thing?
 
Yes I'm ordering an iMed BB2 test kit. it covers most of my stuff.
So what Doc says, if my testosterone is ok, just stick to a VAR cycle with great diet and gym?
For some reason I still find 10mg Var plenty. Supplements include; NAC , Thompson’s milk thistle and occasionally dandelion.
Try to put Testosterone into range ( upper range) then diet & train sensibly. It’s not a bulk protocol so more won’t necessarily be beneficial at this point. Lots of future options if you can get BF below 15% and improve your fitness( carb fasted cardio in morning helps)
Motivation, sleep ,wellbeing and recovery should all improve nicely with this program, it’s a fantastic way to get started

Search the verified sponsors section of forum. They are both highly regarded and reliable. Or google trt clinics if you got lots of money and want big pharma prescriptions

Went through again my meal plans and supplements . I’m sort of ready for a transformation.

Check in with your blood results if any more questions. You might feel good on 5mg Var as it’s your first cycle- it’s a great pre training sup and my blood work actually improved after a month of low dose Var ( with TRT, diet & liver care ) was easy on the wallet too 🤑

I got my results back and my testosterone levels on the low side. Make sense why I feel a bit flat in the mornings. Would be nice to pump it up gently and naturally. I’m not sure if I start taking anavar my testosterone level would go in the low range….
Any thoughts @doc ?

You can give it a go naturally. You said you work out and have started following a diet. Lifestyle makes a big difference,.. good food, good sleep less stress etc. You can also try natural supplements (Ashwagandha, Fenugreek, D aspartic acid, Tribulus terrestris, Zinc, Vitamin D). Or... you can just do TRT (proper TRT not a sports cruise).

Adding the Anavar by itself will lower your natural testosterone even more, so that's why it's important to add the testosterone alongside it to keep your levels balanced. So when you're on TRT your testosterone levels are steady even if you take Anavar. Just be mindul to keep it on track with regular blood tests.

Since your goal is to lose weight I would keeping testosterone level well under 30 with a little Var for energy/ recovery. This should not shut you down or require pct if it’s only a couple of months and you diet / exercise well.
Natural testosterone supplements might be helpful after that as already suggested. Nice to get BF under 15% and the above protocol should help with energy & cravings- reducing carbs , staying active & hungry should be easy. If it doesn’t work well we can look closer at diet & sugar regulation or other supplements, but keeping it simple, safe and affordable is always a good start

If you up the test a little bit you should bounce out of bed early with morning wood 🌞.
I feel pretty vigorous as test level gets around 20 ( aim for this) and start to feel heavy over 30 . Once BF is lower you have better natural levels and options for future cycles so it’s an excellent protocol to start with

I'm still waiting for my VAR package but in the meantime I'm working out almost every day and big rides on Saturdays.
I don't take any TRT so 12.5nmol/L testosterone is my current level. I have boner mornings but also sometimes a bit harder to get out ones. I'm sticking to my diet and see how it goes after a few week. Tbh it is good and quality diet but the hardest is the quantity... started measuring everything. I'm only planning to do the Var for 6-7 weeks max.
