Big pharma and peptides

Short but interesting article. Peptides just don’t make sense for big pharma when you look at thir economics, ~10 years and $2B to bring a drug to market! Obv that can only work if they can patent it. Most peptides are hard to patent, already patenteed or easy to copy, so have already lost exclusivity. When anyone can replicate or compound it cheaper, the upside just isn’t there to justify the risk and cost.

Wonder with the FDA green lighting many peptides, if we'll get government support anywhere for actual safety testing.

No patent = no profit. Stuff like BPC or GHK have been around forever so anyone can make it cheap no point them spending billions on trials. Plus a lot of these peptides don’t have much human data or clear dosing and that’s a must for TGA. Doesn’t mean they don’t work just means they’re not 'clean' enough for approval. If TGA comes in its usually more rules and not free testing or support. I think that a couple peptides will make it through properly 'one day' but most will stay in UGL space.

I reckon it’s even simpler than that cause most of these peptides just aren’t proven enough yet. Big pharma would always find a way to make money off it patent or not. The fact they’re not touching things like BPC etc. yet is obvious that the evidence isn’t there yet. Doesn’t mean they’re useless just means we’re basically the guinea pigs 😂

Yeah I often feel like a lab rat. It's tough to know if it works even with all the anedotal remarks, I took BPC for 3 months and hey my shoulder feels better, but was it just the time? Was it just a placebo? No idea.

Let's hope the FDA do something rather than just blindly approve them.
