To fruit or not to fruit that is the question

I see some much mixed information from social media, online and gym bro about if when cutting should there be fruit in your diet.

Personally I love a good pink lady apple and a banana.

I find an apple can stop the hunger demons telling me to binge for few hours and helps a lot between meals or at end of the day when my calories remaining are very little

Hell yeah, I love fruit and my thinking is that it can definitely be part of a shred. Low in cals and helps satisfy hunger between meals. Just need to make sure to account for it in your overall daily intake.

To fruit, but in moderation!

What is your go to fruit when either cutting or bulking?

When i can find a good one love a bowl of cold watermelon with fresh lime juice squeezed over it 😋

To be very honest I don't discriminate with fruit but to give you an idea you'd do something like this:

These are all my favs

cutting: berries, apples, watermelon, kiwi, papaya (sometimes add Greek yoghurt)

Bulking: bananas, dried fruits (and mixed nuts), mango, pineapple.

I can't live without fruit. It's the one thing that saves me when I get a craving for something sweet. Usually do mixed fruit salad with Jalna Greek Yogurt and granola.

@sillychilli Yep definitely agree with those.

I"d add the following:

Cutting: Grapefruit as helps with insulin sensitivity, Kiwi very high in vitamin C

Bulking: Grapes fast digesting carbs and great for post training snack

Do you cook your grapefruit?
I have only ever had it cooked - cut in half some cinnamon and put under grill

I don't have it that often, always eat it plain. Makes me give some odd expressions. Does sound nice cooked. I'm not sure how much impact the cooking will have in breaking down the nutrients, so if cooking it prob best to do as minimally as possible. Same reason I mostly steam my veg.

It's sort of more just lightly grilled on top and warmed though it.

When I was a child my mum would make it with brown sugar on top and it would almost toffee on the top

It's worth a try for something different

I once heard a quote that said you can't get fat from eating fruit. Obviously, like anything over eating isn't great. I love bananas in my protein shakes. And cold watermelon/rockmelon up on site when it's 45° is amazing
