Just wanted to pose a question and start a convo I guess. Not asking about sets or reps šŸ˜‚

I got back in the gym for the last 2 years after a bit of a life detour (work, young kids, bit of fat dad bod action). Been loving the process again, but recently I’ve noticed my mindset’s changed. Like I’m training smarter, not just harder. Less ego, more consistency.

Just wondering for the older crew or even younger guys who had a shift early, was there a moment when things ā€œclickedā€ for you? Like something that flipped the switch from chasing pumps or PBs to building a real long term lifestyle with this?

Could be injury, could be burnout, could be just growing up. Keen to hear what changed your approach or attitude.

Nice post!

Mine came in a lot later and after years of stupid doses and chasing size. Over time, joints were cooked, had a few injuries, energy wasn’t the same. I had to dial it back. These days I'm more into understanding the why, hormones, pathways and long-term health. Still cycle now and then, but it’s no longer something that runs my life.

Good on ya for getting back into it mate, that’s half the fricken battle. For me, bung shoulder, dodgy knees and joints from years of trying to lift like I was 22 🤣🤣. Got sick of being busted up all the time. These days I train for the long haul, still lift heavy when I can, but I leave the ego at the door. Focus more on staying mobile and keeping the joints happy and just showing up week after week šŸ’ŖšŸ’Ŗ
