Hey legends, I haven’t been very active here lately, life gets in the way sometimes.
Just felt the need to vent after bumping heads with a clown in the gym last night, but that’s another story
As I’m training i see all sorts of things going on around me, as I’m sure we all do. One of my pet peeves I guess, is why do the skinny dudes that got a membership yesterday feel the need to walk into the gym and take their shirt off in front of the mirror and start posing ? Now don’t get me wrong, we all started somewhere, but when I had 12 inch arms I never posed in front of a mirror, certainly not in the gym
Last night was one of the better ones I saw was last night, a bloke walked in front of me while I was training and hit a side chest in the mirror on the way past, now that’s fine, but wearing track suit pants and a baggy tshirt, I’m still trying to work out what he was looking at, lol. You never see any of the people with muscle posing in the mirror, just the skinny young blokes. Sometimes I wonder if they are trying to intimidate the old fella, or impress me ? If you want to impress me, train properly instead of having a 10 minute rest between sets on your phone. I had a bloke ask me how long I’d been training the other night, he was impressed how much muscle I was carrying ( 80kg @ 5foot and 63 y/o ) when I told him 30+ years I think I burst his bubble, he was looking for a quick fix.
The other thing that gets on my goat, is the seemingly new fashion of doing a whole body workout on the cable crossovers, we have two at our gym, and I have done crossovers 3 times in the last 8 months because all the young fellas are there building a huge chest by doing crossovers from 5 different angles, lat pull downs whilst sitting on the floor, triceps, biceps, quads, hamstrings, you name it it’s done on the crossover
I must be getting old (I am) little things annoy me, I have found myself training later and later at night, I’m going in at 10pm, mainly just to so I can train without having to wait for equipment.
Well that’s my whinge over for now, does this stuff only happen in our gym, or is it the norm ?
