Crypto question

I’m finally trying out this crypto currency because everyone on the net wants this payment and seems to be the way to do it nowdays.. my question is I’m going through (Blockchain) and it has asked for my ID with picture, and bank account info... is this the normal process or is there a better option.. this is all new to me guys so any help would be greatly appreciated!
