Hi Guys

New here, had a surgery that had some complications a few years back and looking to try and get back to full strength/ function. Right side accessory nerve damage causing slight facial impairment and shoulder flexibility and muscle loss.

Currently on TRT 0.2 x2 a week due to thyroid removal and hormone imbalance.

Any help would be much appreciated

That's pretty major brother. You would need to focus on a structured recovery plan. A customised physical therapy program would be essential here. I've had my fair share of sessions in the past. Routines should be low impact and designed to gradually rebuild muscle function while minimising strain on the damaged nerve. A proper PT would know best.

You're on TRT, make sure you get regular monitoring of your test levels. This would be important to ensure your levels are optimal and balanced.

All the best with your recovery brother. Keep in mind that overworking the damaged muscles could slow down recovery so it’s important to pace your workouts and focus on full recovery first.

Thanks mate it's much appreciated. I have a clinic that's looking after my bloods to make sure I'm balanced going forward which has been a massive improvement overall.

Just wondering if BPC157 or the "wolverine stack" would be worth trying as well as of course a proper physio program

Brother it depends on the extent of the injury, I never had shoulder surgery cause mates of mine did and now they worse condition than before

BPC-157 and TB-500, they’re popular for recovery, especially in the BB realm. BPC-157 is known for helping with healing and reducing inflammation, while TB-500’s used for repairing soft tissues. Most of the research comes from animal studies, so it’s still kinda experimental in humans.

That said, I've heard of guys that have had some good results. If you do go down that road, just be sure you’re getting them from a trusted source. I would also talk to your Dr before you do anything as they know your situation best.

But honestly, the main thing will still be sticking to a solid physio routine. That’s going to be your bread and butter for getting strength and flexibility back, especially with nerve damage. Don’t rush it and pushing too hard can slow things down, so take it steady.

Be very careful of anything overhead- especially shoulder exercises. Experiment with Incline presses and various bent rows which should help work around the damage (Dumbbells are best)
Most physio protocols are easy to overdo so it’s important to do very gentle rehabilitation exercises separately - don’t increase weight or volume like you would normally ( even tai chi or Pilates can cause flares)

Doc is very correct especially in the statement overhead and shoulders, the words alone make me scared and I feel pain
