Mentally hooked on gear?

Genuine question for those of you who’ve been running cycles for a while now. Do any of you feel like you’ve kinda gotten mentally dependent on being on gear? Not just the physical gains, but actually feeling weird or almost “less yourself” when you’re off cycle or just cruising?

I’ll be honest, lately I’ve been catching myself planning everything around my next blast or feeling flat whenever I’m not running something proper. It’s like the whole process. Ordering, pinning, seeing those quick changes. Becomes a bit of a head game. Anyone else been through or going through this?

Certainly one way to an early grave. Make sure you take the same time on and off a cycle.

I totally get it. It’s easy to start chasing strength, pumps, confidence etc. but long term, you’ve gotta learn to separate your identity from the gear. Use cycles as a tool, not a crutch. Focus on building habits, not just blasts. Mental side’s just as important as physical. That's been my thought process.

Longer breaks & replacing with other activities helps. Focus on the benefits; weight loss and increased aerobic capacity ,enjoying normal food, travel is easier without pills & pins. Knowing it’s possible to do very long term is another - look at Rocky & the Terminator. There’s not to many downsides if trt or cruise is done correctly & training volume is adjusted
