Gyno Surgery

I'm thinking about finally going for the surgery. I've got some gyno that came about from stupid past actions. Some very dumb mistakes. Anyways I'm paying for it now. I'm curious, has anyone here gone through gyno surgery? How did it go for you? How long was the recovery, and did it mess with your training routine? Any noticeable scars? Would appreciate any insight.

I've been there too.

I went through with the surgery in 2018. The procedure was roughly 2hrs. Recovery was around 8 weeks before I could really get back into lifting. Had to take it easy for the first couple of weeks. The scars were very minimal and they do fade over time, you will never tell with mine now.

I wouldn't hesitate and just get it done.

Thank you for replying @VPCAL that's really reassuring. I've done some research as well and found some horror stories lol.. I guess your going to get those as well. Did you get it done under medicare?

Don't quote me but I'm pretty sure you can. I just got it under private health care.

I've read the only way you can get it through Medicare is if it's so severe it's causing severe depression etc. Guess you'd have to go through loads of rounds of seeing a physcologist first.

Out of curiosity how much does it cost?

It went well. First week was the worst and roughest. Sore, bruised and swollen, lots of rest, compression garment 24/7 and the usual pain meds for a few days. Stitches came out after 8 days andstarted to feel a bit more manageable after that.

Swelling and numbness stuck around the scars but apparently that’s normal. Really settled down in the last couple of weeks. I'm avoiding gym for now. Just do walks everyday, twice a day.

All in all no major complications for me, just the usual recovery timeline and patience I guess. If you’re considering it, I do recommend it just keep in mind that everyone heals a bit differently.
